Our Services
Serving over 50 newspapers in South Texas
The association promotes the welfare of Texas newspapers, encourages higher standards of journalism, and plays an important role in protecting the public’s right to know as an advocate of First Amendment liberties.
STPA members are weekly and semi weekly newspapers and organizations who meet the legislative criteria of a periodical newspaper.
The STPA officers and directors lead the organization’s effort to help member newspapers and pursue the goals and vision of the group.
STPA holds its annual Newspaper Convention and Trade Show for its members to meet and participate in learning and professional newspaper activities.
STPA offers financial scholarship opportunities for high school graduating seniors and college students studying journalism.
The STPA Better Newspaper Contest is held every year at the STAP Convention to toast memeber’s hard work and dedication to jouranlism.
STPA offers members an opportunity to apply for member newspapers to apply for funding to hire aspiring journalists to work in the newsroom.
